Our Story

It all started when…

I was always in the kitchen with Dad, grabbing ingredients from the fridge, opening tins and passing spices from the cupboards low down, these were the only ones I could reach!

Despite always wanting to be chef and not little helper, over the years I picked up a wealth of knowledge about food, cooking and - most importantly - chilli.

Chilli is, and always has been, a staple ingredient in our household and we LOVE it!

When my Dad passed away, I continued to spend lots of time in the kitchen every week. Cooking for family and friends brings me so much joy and happiness, when everyone is enjoying their meal and content, it's the best feeling.

My Dad used to make the most delicious chutneys, sauces and pickles to accompany our meals. These varied from raw chutneys, cooked sauces to pickling fruit like apples.

In Christmas 2014 I recalled one of his recipes from how I could remember it, a spicy cooked tomato based sauce almost chutney like. I had all the ingredients in the fridge so set about making a pan full of it.

Once made I bottled the sauce then and asked for some help from a designer at work to art work some labels. I had these printed and then gifted all eleven bottles at Christmas that year.

The feedback I received was brilliant, and requested came in for more sauce and suggestions to sell the sauce to paying customers.

In 2015 we launched our Original hot sauce at Greenwich Market. Since then we’ve added two more varieties: Smokin’ Sister and Mum’s Mango and Family Fire. Each sauce is named after a member of my family.

Post covid I have now branched out into specialist farmers markets and selling through small artisan distributors as well.
